1 set of aligator clips
1 roll of tinfoil
Things to Remember
micro:bit are quite fragile they don't like being forced to connect. Check you have connections the right way round before plugging them in. Never force or bend connections
micro:bit battery packs have already been connected the micro:bit for you. please only remove the cover on the battery pack DO NOT remove the entire battery pack from the micro:bit
micro:bit is allergic to water unless you have a very long connection, your device and theMicro:bit must be at least 2 metres from any water source
Please reset your micro:bit back to the OOB (Out of Box) program when you have finished using it here's a page that explains how to do that.
Getting to Know Micro:bit

Have a go with the OOB (out of box) program\.
Make sure the batteries have been charged (if they are not rechargeable batteries you'll need to replace them if they're flat)
Turn the power button on - have a look at the diagram above to find the power button

Coding your Micro:Bit
MakeCode is a block based editor. It uses coding blocks as the language to code your Micro:bit
Python is a text based editor. It uses text based language to code your Micro:bit
Scratch is a block based editor. You will need to install the Scratch app on a chromebook or Scratch Link on a mac or windows device to conenct it to a micro:bit.
Remember to reset your micro:bit to the OOB exerperience when you have finished using it.
A Few Challenges
Make It is a whole range of coding projects you can do with the Micro:bit.
Do try and challenge yourself with an intermediate or expert project if you've already mastered how to use the Micro:bit.
Do your :bit is a yearly challenge involving students from around the world. If you're keen to join the challenge have a chat to your teacher about how that might look for you.
